How to Make Yourself Kissable on Valentine’s Day

Well, it’s early February now. Odds are you’re prepping for one of the year’s first big holidays – Valentine’s Day! Perhaps you’ve gotten your sweetheart some candy and flowers, or maybe you have a romantic meal planned. Either way, don’t forget: this day often involves kissing. You’ll need to ensure your mouth is ready to smooch. Luckily, your local Rome dentist can help you out. Here’s how you can have a kissable mouth on Valentine’s Day.

Beware of Bad Breath

Of course, a kiss is done up close; it brings your partner near enough to smell you. So, ensure you don’t have bad breath when the time comes.

It’s surprisingly easy to get bad breath. Often, the issue is caused by dry mouth and bad oral hygiene. You should thus practice regular brushing and flossing. If possible, use store-bought mouthwash and chewing gum as well. You’ll then have a fresh mouth for your Valentine’s date!

Have a Bright Smile

As you and your date kiss, you’ll see each other’s teeth. That means you should sport a bright smile beforehand. If your grin is dirty and stained, your partner may not want to kiss you.

Given this fact, try whitening your chompers before the big day. You can even consult your dentist about which option is best. After all, you could get store-bought whiteners or an in-office dental treatment. Either choice helps your pearly whites live up to their nickname and makes you more kissable.

Don’t Smoke

You likely already know that smoking is bad for you. When you puff a cigarette, you greatly harm your body. Well, you also shouldn’t smoke before Valentine’s Day. Doing so results in poorer holiday kisses.

Typically, romantic partners don’t like to kiss smoky mouths. Smoking stains your teeth and leaves them looking ugly. Plus, the habit makes you smell and taste bad. You’re just better off without tobacco in your life. Cutting it out will improve your health and your kissing.

Avoid Contagious Cavities

Before you do any lip-locking, confirm if your smile is healthy. A careless move may spread a cavity you have to your partner’s mouth. Should that happen, Valentine’s Day will involve less romance and more tooth decay.

You see, microbes that cause cavities can spread from one person to another. All it’d take is a simple kiss or sharing your dining utensils. Therefore, brush twice daily to have a cavity-free smile for your date. At the very least, get a filling or dental crown to cover the affected area.

You really ought to have a kissable mouth on Valentine’s Day. With that said, remember the tips above and celebrate your relationship!
